I am lucky enough to say that this was my first and best road trip. We had an awesome crew of 5, and spent 5 days treking from Los Angeles to Austin. This was my first time to the south, and it was so much fun being able to explore the coolest parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas on the road. Some of our stops included Joshua Tree, The Grand Canyon, Pheonix, White Sands Monument, and Marfa, before finally hitting Austin.

Our first stop, Joshua Tree, was a cool little desert town outside of Los Angeles. It was always 90-100 degrees, which made it extremely difficult for us to be even be outside! Lucky enough we had the cutest AirBnB with the hippest and coolest desert decor. We didn't do much shopping there, but The End was my favorite boutique we hit up! We also made it to Joshua Tree National Park, 29 Palms Inn, Keys View at sunset.

Seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time was so unreal. We chased the sun and made it there 45 minutes before the sunset. It's one of those places that you can just sit and stare off into the distance for hours. Everything was so golden and beautiful, and our timing was just perfect.

I think White Sands was one the most beautiful place I'd ever seen. We lost 2 hours that day because of the time changes, and barely got there before the sun went down. Nonetheless, it was still jaw droppingly beautiful. Seeing the endless mounds of white dunes along with a picture perfect sunset was a dream come true. I would love to go back again during the day for a completely different experience!

Marfa, Marfa, Marfa! This super small hip town was one of the coolest places I've ever been to. You can drive through the whole town in about 5 minutes, and see the coolest of the cool. We grabbed coffee at Do Your Thing, shopped at Freda, Cobra Rock Book Company, and Marfa Book Company in Hotel Saint George. We cruised and drank local beer at the El Cosmico hotel, got my pho fix at Marpho, saw the famous Prada store, and grabbed road snacks at their cool local market, The Get Go. Then we were on the road to Austin!

After so much driving, it was such a relief to finally get there. We spent about 3 full days in Austin eating, drinking, and shopping at all the best places! Thank you to my friend Emily and her boyfriend Rene, for the wonderful experience and meal at Launderette, and for recommending so many other great eateries! Cafe No Se,  Launderette, Clarks Oyster Bar, Hillside Farmacy, and Elizabeth Street Cafe, were all so delicious, especially after eating on the road for so many days. Shopping in Austin  was just as good! JM Drygoods, Kick Pleat, By George, Outdoor Voices, Sunroom, Charm School Vintage, and Olive were all such gems. Austin is full of so much energy and good vibes. I can't wait to go back soon and spend more time there!

I want to send a huge mahalo to our friend Sarah for letting us road trip her car, and for being such a great host in Austin. Also, much love to my 5 star crew for being such a blast. Let's plan our next adventure soon!
