Capitol Couture

I think the majority of us are all obsessed with The Hunger Games. I just finished the final third book, and sadly I feel mildly depressed. I never wanted it to end! So until the movie comes out in two months, I'm staying involved by keeping up with the fashions in The Capitol and District 12 at Capitol Couture. Send in your questions or tips, and get a chance to be on Capitol Couture yourself! Beyond amazing..

Photo Diary: Sunday Celebrations

Welcome home and Happy Birthday Lina Beans! Oh, and I'm madly in love with my new Turkish towel from Owens and Co. Perfect for the beach as a towel and wrap, and even works as an amazing scarf! Snag one of your own before they sell out again. They're perfect gifts!

Yesterdayz

Vince slouchy pants / Fighting Eel Tube Bondi / Top Shop vest (gifted from my cousin who came back from Japan yesterday!) / Fighting Eel Cardigan Harper / Vintage scarf / Steve Madden booties / Pradman earrings

Started the day with this scarf tied in my head, ended it with the scarf around my neck. Typical me, always trying to reinvent my outfits at work. But honestly that's how you discover new ways to wear things, and how to make the outfit your own. Let's get those creative juices flowing!

Green

David Yurman, J. Crew, and Giles and Brother bracelets / Green Trousers by Zara

Fighting Eel Tube Bondi in oatmeal / Square earrings by B. D'Angelo

I spotted these heels a mile away, and I knew at first glance that I needed them in my life. How fun are they!? I feel like everything I've been buying lately has been bright, colorful, and just a tad bit over the top. But sometimes you just have to forget about playing it safe! Speaking of not playing it safe, next up will be layering prints!

Be Bold

Orange J. Brand denim / Vintage silk top from Barrio Vintage

Cheap Monday sunglasses / Silver Pod earrings / B. D'Angelo silver nugget studs

Neon yellow J. Crew belt

Forever 21 beaded clutch

Nine West heels

Clear bangles / Kiele rings

As you all know, my slogan for this Spring is the brighter the better! Color blocking, bright accessories, and playful prints is what it's all about! I love these orange J. Brands because you can go bright or stay neutral in them. But just remember to avoid too much black. The Halloween look is no bueno during the Spring. With bright orange you can do almost any vivid color (pink, purple, blue, green..) as well as white, and brown tones. Experiment and be bold this season!

Spotty Dotty

Cheap Monday jeans bought on sale years ago. Who knew!? / Polk-a-dot top from The Butik / J. Crew Edie Purse (I got for $166, regular $238) / Sam Edelman flats $99

Ray Ban sunglasses / I found this necklace in my sisters room! Score!

Blue! It's so banana's that I bought these jeans on sale 5 years ago because no one was into colored jeans then. Such a great steal! I'm not really a Cheap Monday denim fan because their unisex cuts make your butt look flat, but these jeans are an exception. I prefer Citizens of Humanity jeggings, which are comfortably stretchy, but never stretch out, and of course I trust J Brand with my life.
Oh, and these are my new favorite flats in the world! I know I say this all the time, but they're really comfortable and who could resist that heel? Favorite buy this week!

A Pop of Red

Nine West heels / Striped top Fashionistas Market / H&M red pants

J. Crew flower bud earring $40

David Yurman silver bracelets / Giles and Brother gold bracelet and Justine Jones wooden bracelet (available at Owens and Co.) / J. Crew friendship bracelets / Yashi gold spiral ring (gifted!) / Club Monaco band

J. Crew Edie purse $166 on sale Xmas Eve! / Cheap Monday sunglasses

Here I begin a series of posts featuring my favorite colored pants/denim. There's so many wild colors and prints out right now, but I find red the most practical. Compared to the many other colors I own, I wear the red at least 4 times as often. These H&M ones are the best fitting pants I've ever slid my tush into! They're comfy, stretchy, high waisted, and the perfect length! Definitely considering getting multiple colors made..

And The Nominees Are..

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace / Roony Mara in Nina Ricci

Michelle Williams in Jason Wu / Kelly Macdonald in Lorena Sarbu

Claire Danes in J. Mendel / Dianna Agron in Giles

Piper Perabo in  Theyskens Theory / Emma Stone in Lanvin

Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci / Zooey Deschanel in Prada

The best part of watching the Golden Globes, for any woman, is seeing what all the actresses are wearing. A dress can say so much about a woman. I think my best dressed pick would be Angelina Jolie. The cut is so sophisticated, funky, and sexy at the same time. And the pop of red just did it for me. My second runner up would be Emma Stone. This girl is becoming a fashion queen! I love the shoulder cuffs, the strip of deep red, and the belt just finished it off perfectly. But if I had to choose a dress, I would wear..

Jason Wu Spring 2012

I'd wear it just as shown with a thin black belt, chunky diamond earrings, and pink lips. Who wouldn't!? It's Spring baby!
